Updating these 4 items will make your kitchen feel fresh and new

Kitchens can quickly become outdated. Linoleum flooring, scratched Formica countertops, and appliances that have broken knobs and chipped, yellowing paint. But there are things that a homeowner can do to make their kitchen look like new again. Keeping your kitchen updated is important because it's a room that everyone gathers in, and often has details that go in and out of style. Here are a few things that will make your kitchen fresh in a big way.
Paint Color Choices
One of the easiest ways to get a more updated kitchen is to paint the walls. Some kitchens have darker colors that make a room feel dated. The trend of the last decade or two has been lighter colors in the kitchen to make the space feel airier and brighter.
Backsplashes
One of the trends of the last decade has been to have backsplashes that cover the wall from the counter to the cabinets or at least very close to them. In the 90s, the countertop had a lip that extended up to cover part of the wall, but there are so many color and material options now, and homeowners can make a beautiful backsplash using tiles.
Countertops
Over the last 15 years or so, premium materials such as granite and quartz have become staples in the kitchen. Giving your kitchen a face lift with new countertops will make the entire space feel fresh.
Dated Drawer Pulls
One of the easiest and often one of the least expensive things to update in a kitchen is the drawer pulls. If they're tarnished or have a peeling or chipped finish, people will notice this every time they walk in the kitchen. Swap them out for new ones in a modern finish. It's a quick and easy update.
The kitchen is the hub of the home. Utilizing one or all of these tips will help you keep your own kitchen modern and fresh.
